Why is my acoustic so TWANGY?
I just got a fender dg 8s nat , it looked pretty nice and only cost me 200. but whenever i play, especially on the e string, I can't stand the twangyness, it seriously just hurts my ears.
Is this just because its a cheap guitar, and the quality of it or something? Are all acoustics like this? Maybe its the strings? I know I'm playing correct on how I'm pressing down on the strings and also where I'm plucking, etc. I just want to know how to get rid of the twangyness. thank you!!
I just recently bought a really nice used acoustic guitar from an old man down the street. The low E string and the A string are fairly twangy. I haven't replaced the strings yet, so I'm pretty sure that'll have something to do with it. They're really rusty. 
It could also have something to do with how you're plucking it. Make sure you're not getting it under the string. You should be plucking parallel to the body of the guitar. If you pluck it and pull it up, it is going to make more of a twangy noise.
